What did we do to them?

Today was a slow day at work, north wing is still on outbreak so I couldn't take anyone down to church. Everyone was very sleepy this morning, lots of residents were back in bed, the rest were in the dining room slumped forward or sideways in their chairs. One of my newest residents, a fairly aware lady comes up to me and says, "look at them all in there, it looks like they've all been shot!" (and it sort of did!)

This afternoon, one of my favorite little ladies was agitated, so we gave her a baby doll wrapped in a blanket which she was cooing to, and caring for with great concern. Housekeeping came in to clean and they had to take the baby away from her for a few minutes to get her apron (bib) off, the housekeeper went to give her the baby back and my dear O says to her, "well I think it is your turn to look after the baby now!!"

Another of my ladies is Hungarian and came be quite feisty sometimes, she is also fairly intolerant with many of the more confused residents. She was telling someone off in Hungarian the other day, and another of my ladies turns to the nurse and me and says very matter of factly "well that lady has a little bit of something she could do without." What a wonderful way of putting it!
